Remediating AMD in the Blackleggs Watershed

ne thing I learned from my visit to the Blackleggs Watershed is that treating abandoned mine drainage (AMD) is hard work. It requires many volunteer hours and partnerships between groups who have a common goal of cleaning up their waterways. One of the hardest working individuals in the amd remediation world is Art Grugrich. Art is featured in this week's video, and is also being spotlighted as our Watershed Hero for the month of January.

e sure to tune into Watershed Weekly on January 8th for the feature story, written by Nick Pinnizotto, Director, of the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy's Watershed Assistance Center.

o find out more information about the group, check out their website at http://www.blackleggs.org
